I'm starting to think this is deliberate on Microsoft's end. Maybe they are trying to get us to use their scanning app (which also didn't work for me). I used to be able to scan from my computer but all the sudden it stopped working this week. Doesn't make since since I can use the printer with no issue. According to these posts, this seems to be a recurring issue for months. You would think Microsoft would have already come up with a solution.
Win 11 ver. 24H2 causing Brother scanning driver install to fail. How to fix?
Hi All,
I have a Brother DCP-7065DN multi-function machine, connected to my Windows 11 desktop computer. I was having some problems with a label printer and pursuant to that I disinstalled the Brother software and re-installed it. Since the re-install, the Brother printer driver installed but the scanner driver installation failed. I've tried multiple times.
Brother has noted this as a problem with Windows 11 Version 24H2. (See attached link.)
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thanks.
Nancy

2025-03-29T14:51:09+00:00 Honestly? I would not put it past microsoft....
I am not a tin foil hat kind of guy but I didnt have issues with my OLD W10 machine until the last few months, as MS is saying "we wont support it anymore".....things started getting wonky.
What better to drive users towards a new product than to have the old product start blowing up?
MS changed stuff in W11 that didnt need to be changed , user interface-wise.....and I dont like it. But its either waste days on end trying to to troubleshoot W10 issues or concede......all for the sake of "progress".....no, more $$$$ for MS.
I get it. "We're in business to make $$" and all....but its not exactly dificult to see them breaking stuff "accidentally" to push migration to their "new and improved" product.
I have grown to dislike Microsoft very VERY much. But what other choices does one have.
And hey Microsoft....you may have us by the shorts...but....we see you.

2025-03-30T07:25:33+00:00 Nothing has been resolved, not even after the latest Microsoft update (KB5053656). The Brother MFC-L8690CDW multifunction printer is only functional for printing and scanning from the laptop. Scanning from the device to the laptop is still not functional, no matter what I do. Is Microsoft making fun of us? This problem has been known since the release of version 24H2 and still nothing is done. I have tried everything that can be tried, all the solutions exposed on this community to solve this problem, but everything was in vain.

2025-03-30T15:10:17+00:00 Scanning from PC via WIFI can work with MS Scan and BrotheriPrint&Scan app only with MS wsd driver (10.0.26100. 6/21/2006) instead of Brother driver under imaging devices. Kofax PaperPort doesn't work with MS wsd driver. Scanning via USB fully works with Brother driver.
