Tried this fix with a Brother MFC9970CDW and it did not work. I get an error message that says "The MFC9970CDW Lan cannot be found" when I try to initiate a scan from the PC.

Hi All,
I have a Brother DCP-7065DN multi-function machine, connected to my Windows 11 desktop computer. I was having some problems with a label printer and pursuant to that I disinstalled the Brother software and re-installed it. Since the re-install, the Brother printer driver installed but the scanner driver installation failed. I've tried multiple times.
Brother has noted this as a problem with Windows 11 Version 24H2. (See attached link.)
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

2025-01-05T04:24:45+00:00 My apologies to all who replied to my OP; I have updated my email address in my Microsoft account but this forum is still using an old email address (anybody know how to fix THAT, lol?), so I only noticed today, when checking the old email account, that users had responded to my OP.
I have located a fix for this that works for me (don't recall now where I learned it):
Go to Device Manager
Double click on Imaging Devices
Right click on Brother machine name
Choose Uninstall Device...
Restart computer
If this works for you, I recommend you keep these instructions handy as the problem may reassert itself if you ever have to re-install the Brother software.

Very annoying, when MS tells us we have to buy new computers due to end of W10 support.

When windows 10 devices had Brother scanner driver installed and working perfectly fine, after upgrading them to windows 11 doesn't cause any issue, in fact it's still working on Windows 11 24H2.
But let's say some devices, we have installed fresh copy of Windows 11 24H2 due to some reason and then tried to install Brother printer full driver package installation, only scanner driver failed to get installed.
If anyone find any loophole to workaround, please post here to help other.
Microsoft/Windows - get it resolved... Or Brother need to find a new solution...

2024-12-30T23:44:49+00:00 Ditto here. Just bought a new WIN 11 computer with 24H2 installed. Downloaded and installed the Brother software to the new computer. Went to scan a document to no avail. Ran troubleshooter which told me the scanner drivers failed to install. Went through several installations and removals trying different things before finding this post. Nothing worked so far. I might give the scanner app a try.
End result, my reliable multi-function printer/scanner no longer scans. Uhg
Update: I was able to download the MS Windows Scan app and scan a document with it. But the app is very limited (i.e., will not scan both sides of a double sided document).
This is why I still have my old computer and will just have to resort to using it for scanning since it is still on WIN 10 and works.
