Win 11 ver. 24H2 causing Brother scanning driver install to fail. How to fix?

Hi All,

I have a Brother DCP-7065DN multi-function machine, connected to my Windows 11 desktop computer. I was having some problems with a label printer and pursuant to that I disinstalled the Brother software and re-installed it. Since the re-install, the Brother printer driver installed but the scanner driver installation failed. I've tried multiple times.

Brother has noted this as a problem with Windows 11 Version 24H2. (See attached link.)

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Thanks.

    Hello haramo.

I no longer use ControlCenter4 but just iPrint&Scan. You can also set all kinds of things there. I can't help you in detail. You'll have to find that out for yourself.

Apologies for the screenshot in Dutch.

    Dear

I was testing and trying, , lost hours , now to find this article that it might be an issue with the latest 24H2.

I had to completely reformat my Lenovo laptop as there ware to much BSOD's, under garanty I followed the steps.

But I realised late, the recovery image that I downloaded from Lenovo was an old one, (2021) . I did not want to install 24H2 but I didn't even had 23 , so I had not choise then just to install the latest Windows Udate.

So each time I install an app, in stall the printer, then the Brother ADs-2800W LAN, and normally it should work direclty after installin the full software of Lenovo's site.

so now I'm here, after trying everthiing: ping ok, device manager ok, remove and add back the device, , crazy as it is, Controlcenter4 refuses to even start if the device is active in device manager, but the iprint&scan untitilty works as a sharm.

But I prefere the Control center4 to automate scan tasks! scan buttons , ..;.

and crazy, If I hit the screen on my scanner: to scan it says: no connection to pc found... . please how come I can use iprint scan but cannot use any other button from the scanner or controlcenter4? crazy.

Is there a fix or not yet?

After trying the IT administrators' solution several times, I turned everything off and reinstalled it one more time and sure enough, the scanner was recognized and everything is now operational. There has been no update or otherwise. Apparently it's a bug that clears itself after repeated uninstalling and reinstalling. But I think this has happened 20 times or more to great frustration.

Windows did not recognize the scanner at all. When "installing a new scanner", MS recognized the MS scanner and the already installed Canon scanner. The Brother brand or DW40 type did not appear anywhere and could not be retrieved. Brother IT specialists also did not know what to do with the situation and referred to Japan or the USA.

I have the same issue with W11 compatible DCP -1612W scanner/printer. All worked fine before 24H2 update and now scanner appears as not installed, drivers fail to installed and I cannot use it anymore even after reinstalling the the whole driver package only the printer works.

After talking to Brother support they told me this issue is caused by MS and I should contact Microsoft as there is nothing they can do...

Thing is I payed for a device - compatible with W11 - and than W11 update killed one of its functions - MS is this a joke? Please fix asap.

FYI: 1610W and 1612W share the same driver. Issue occurs on both LAN and WiFi making the scanner useless.
