Win 11 ver. 24H2 causing Brother scanning driver install to fail. How to fix?

Hi All,

I have a Brother DCP-7065DN multi-function machine, connected to my Windows 11 desktop computer. I was having some problems with a label printer and pursuant to that I disinstalled the Brother software and re-installed it. Since the re-install, the Brother printer driver installed but the scanner driver installation failed. I've tried multiple times.

Brother has noted this as a problem with Windows 11 Version 24H2. (See attached link.)

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Thanks.

Nancy

I see that your driver date is June 2024 and mine is September 2016 after installed full package yesterday from Brother. Could that be because of model # I Have Brother MFC-L2700DW

Sounds like all these options have me installing another program/app or something else that doesn't fix the problem it just works around the problem, sort of. I had downloaded "the fixes" as suggested and it still isn't working. I scan 2 or 3 pages, using the feeder and if all the pages are scanned, it puts each page in a separate file. I need all the pages in the same file, one page after the other. It was working before Microsoft made whatever updates/fixes. Why can't this just be fixed. So ridiculous!

thanks, I got already it to work but did not exactly remember how, so I could not post it. I think I did exactly what you posted, so I recommend that. Thanks for the effort. I have a brother MFC-L8690CDW

I think i have found a way to get my MFC-L8390CDW's device to PC scan to work.

first i have uninstalled all software and drivers that's brother related.

    Problem:

At this point, if I try to install use the "easy_setup" exe from brothers website i will run into the "wrong argument" error when installing the scanner driver

But i cannot see my scanner under "Imaging devices" to update the driver like the good people in this thread suggested.

    My workaround (YMMV):

    1. uninstalled all software and drivers that's brother related.
    2. At this point I cannot see any device under "Imaging devices" in device manager
    3. control panel -> view scanners and cameras , I cannot see any device here at this point
    4. in the scanners and cameras window, choose add device, choose Microsoft - SCSI Scanner Device
    5. After installing I see a device under "Imaging devices" in device manager
    6. I updated the driver of that device to the brother driver
    7. I rebooted the computer (not sure if this is necessary)
    8. Then i run "easy_setup" again and it went through with no error
    9. I try to run "Machine scan setup" in iprint&scan but it couldn't find the machine for some reason
    10. rebooted
    11. now "Machine scan setup" works fine and I can scan from device to PC. (I had to fix my firewall first but that's not really part of this)

    hope this helps
