Win 11 ver. 24H2 causing Brother scanning driver install to fail. How to fix?

Hi All,

I have a Brother DCP-7065DN multi-function machine, connected to my Windows 11 desktop computer. I was having some problems with a label printer and pursuant to that I disinstalled the Brother software and re-installed it. Since the re-install, the Brother printer driver installed but the scanner driver installation failed. I've tried multiple times.

Brother has noted this as a problem with Windows 11 Version 24H2. (See attached link.)

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Thanks.

Nancy

Honestly -- I do not buy that it is solely a "MS issue" as Brother says.....

Yes I know there are other makes/models out there having the same issues.

But explain why other software - like the NAPS2 app....works perfectly fine with the scanner function.

"Something smells in the state of Denmark" ...lol

I am having the SAME issue on my very old W10 machine....all this started after I shut down the Brother multifunction machien as well as the PC for a week.

The W11 machine is brand spanking new, a move I made BECAUSE I thought the 10 year old+ W10 PC was the culprit....

And for it to magically be working again on my W11 PC scares me...lol

Didn't work for me either! I tried everything on here multiple times. Still unable to feed scan. I have to open iprint./scan and hit the scan button that way rather than feed my docs and hit scan on the machine. It is such a huge hassle!! Argh!

That's exactly what my problem is. I need to scan more than one page and the scanner doesn't ask if I have any additional pages so I can place them on the scanner. It used to do that before this awful update. Sometimes we need to have more than one page scanned in the same file. Geez! Come on Microsoft! Hear our CRIES!

I just posted how this didnt work for me.....after doing pretty much everything posted here twice.

I even installed the NAPS2 software --which worked immediately by the way but doesnt do feeder scans....so I kept trying.

Another restart and --- magically --- the Brother software works now for scanning and printing.

Brother (after much time on the chat line with them) claims it is a MS issue.....I fail to see that, since NAPS2 works fine immediately.

But anyways, not sure why this worked.....or how.......I was just about to order a new printer/scanner but didnt because honestly the Brother MFC J875DW is the best printer/scanner I have ever had...ink is not horrible expensive, doesnt guzzle ink, prints DVDs, etc etc...it does occiasionally double feed paper when printing.....but.....

I am glad I happened across this page.......never would have thought "multiple restarts" would magically heal anything.....I dont know which of the other steps I took helped...or if all of them did....or none. LOL

And, oddly, there is STILL no "scanner" showing up in my devices-->printers/scanners page
