Win 11 ver. 24H2 causing Brother scanning driver install to fail. How to fix?

Hi All,

I have a Brother DCP-7065DN multi-function machine, connected to my Windows 11 desktop computer. I was having some problems with a label printer and pursuant to that I disinstalled the Brother software and re-installed it. Since the re-install, the Brother printer driver installed but the scanner driver installation failed. I've tried multiple times.

Brother has noted this as a problem with Windows 11 Version 24H2. (See attached link.)

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Thanks.

Seriously Microsoft?? This has been an issue for 4 MONTHS and you STILL HAVE NOT FIXED IT??

Is Microsoft even aware / have they acknowledged this issue?? Shouldn't take 6+ months to fix this issue. Guess I have no choice but to go back to USB.

    HI Billy,

The scanner “works” I am unable to use the scanner screen itself to scan documents.

I must manually login to iprint/scan to do anything. It’s added a ton of time to my workload.

My IT department and I followed your instructions, no change!

Hi Sarah, I'm sorry to hear that. Everyone we work with mostly uses Brother's CC4 to scan documents and save them to their computer. My workaround which we have tested extensively apparently seems to be the workaround most other IT technicians are also using. Unfortunately we don't typically use iprint so I cannot comment on that.

I agree. That was the solution I received also. A printer/ scanner that worked perfectly fine before this so-called update has caused me to lose so much time and makes my printer/scanner almost useless. What the heck is Microsoft trying to prove here?

I saw the updated drivers in Windows 11 additional updates. I downloaded and installed them. I can use the Windows scan app, but still totally unable to install the Brother full installation package. This is nothing more than a workaround.
