Hi All,
I have a Brother DCP-7065DN multi-function machine, connected to my Windows 11 desktop computer. I was having some problems with a label printer and pursuant to that I disinstalled the Brother software and re-installed it. Since the re-install, the Brother printer driver installed but the scanner driver installation failed. I've tried multiple times.
Brother has noted this as a problem with Windows 11 Version 24H2. (See attached link.)
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thanks.
Nancy

I downloaded Windows Scanner and it still doesn't work for me. Very frustrating especially since this seems to have been going on for months and Microsoft hasn't fixed it. They need to put another update out already.
This is most definitely, 100% guaranteed a problem caused by Microsoft, in a patch included in Windows 11, 24H2 released October 1st, 2024.
This affects all printer/scanners: HP, Canon, Brother, Epson.
Computers that had the printer/scanner software installed before the 24H2 update were not affected, even if this update was installed.
Computers with this version installed have this problem. If you are able to follow the instructions posted on Jan 8, by 'IT Administrators' this should fix the problem. You may have to reference some of the other posts around that date. Following these instructions, I was able to fix three computers with this problem.
I'm questioning now whether this is a Microsoft problem or a Brother problem. What seems to be failing is the Brother driver installation. When it's actually installed, it works so maybe Brother needs to change something to make their packages 11 24h2 compliant
This worked for me. Thank you.
