Please, can you elaborate more on what exactly the Microsoft representative did? Can you now scan directly from the device to the laptop?
Win 11 ver. 24H2 causing Brother scanning driver install to fail. How to fix?
Hi All,
I have a Brother DCP-7065DN multi-function machine, connected to my Windows 11 desktop computer. I was having some problems with a label printer and pursuant to that I disinstalled the Brother software and re-installed it. Since the re-install, the Brother printer driver installed but the scanner driver installation failed. I've tried multiple times.
Brother has noted this as a problem with Windows 11 Version 24H2. (See attached link.)
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thanks.
Nancy

2025-04-08T18:55:07+00:00 I just chatted with a Microsoft representative and let him control my computer and he fixed my issue.
I shared the URL of this forum on the survey so that they are aware of this issue. But here is how he fixed it:
"I removed the printer from the connected devices from settings and then used the brother app to scan for the printer directly

2025-04-08T18:13:30+00:00 I don't have that printer, but if it's just the scanner not working, I'm sure it is a Microsoft issue with this "24H2". I would think that someone from Microsoft would be monitoring this board and if so, they should fix this problem that is causing issues for so many people!

2025-04-08T17:54:51+00:00 This is infuriating. So much time wasted. I have an MFC-J6710DW. It's a very useful large-format printer.
I called brother and they said they stopped supporting it. Is it MS fault or Brother?
Has anyone got the scanner to work on a MFC-J6710DW?

2025-04-07T05:06:57+00:00 The problem is even more serious, because I notice that the same thing also occurs when scanning from the scanner(MFC-L8690CDW) to another laptop on which Windows 10 is installed. From both laptops (both the one with Windows 11 24H2, but also the one with Windows 10), I can scan/print from the laptop, but not vice versa, from the scanner to the laptop!
What could be the problem?
