Win 11 ver. 24H2 causing Brother scanning driver install to fail. How to fix?

Hi All,

I have a Brother DCP-7065DN multi-function machine, connected to my Windows 11 desktop computer. I was having some problems with a label printer and pursuant to that I disinstalled the Brother software and re-installed it. Since the re-install, the Brother printer driver installed but the scanner driver installation failed. I've tried multiple times.

Brother has noted this as a problem with Windows 11 Version 24H2. (See attached link.)

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Thanks.

Nancy

    Aplicația Windows Scan funcționează. Mulţumesc.

În speranța că Windows și/sau Brother pot oferi o soluție.

Maybe Doug Houston2 didn't understand what I wrote above. With the Brother utility, I can't scan directly from the scanner to the laptop! I can scan from the laptop, I can print without any problems. Windows Scan doesn't help me solve the problem I've mentioned.

Please know you're not alone. I have spent hours trying every fix under the sun. Only to be met with disappointment. I even went out and purchased a new scanner thinking my scanner was malfunctioning. This Microsoft issue is costing me money. Microsoft owes me hazard pay! Between the new scanner I purchased and the extra time it takes to complete tasks. It is ludacris! Moral of this story...you are not alone!

Honestly? I would not put it past microsoft....

I am not a tin foil hat kind of guy but I didnt have issues with my OLD W10 machine until the last few months, as MS is saying "we wont support it anymore".....things started getting wonky.

What better to drive users towards a new product than to have the old product start blowing up?

MS changed stuff in W11 that didnt need to be changed , user interface-wise.....and I dont like it. But its either waste days on end trying to to troubleshoot W10 issues or concede......all for the sake of "progress".....no, more $$$$ for MS.

I get it. "We're in business to make $$" and all....but its not exactly dificult to see them breaking stuff "accidentally" to push migration to their "new and improved" product.

I have grown to dislike Microsoft very VERY much. But what other choices does one have.

And hey Microsoft....you may have us by the shorts...but....we see you.

I'm starting to think this is deliberate on Microsoft's end. Maybe they are trying to get us to use their scanning app (which also didn't work for me). I used to be able to scan from my computer but all the sudden it stopped working this week. Doesn't make since since I can use the printer with no issue. According to these posts, this seems to be a recurring issue for months. You would think Microsoft would have already come up with a solution.

This solution made my DS-640 scan-to-pc button work again right away.

    Thank you!
