Win 11 ver. 24H2 causing Brother scanning driver install to fail. How to fix?

Hi All,

I have a Brother DCP-7065DN multi-function machine, connected to my Windows 11 desktop computer. I was having some problems with a label printer and pursuant to that I disinstalled the Brother software and re-installed it. Since the re-install, the Brother printer driver installed but the scanner driver installation failed. I've tried multiple times.

Brother has noted this as a problem with Windows 11 Version 24H2. (See attached link.)

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Thanks.

Nancy

Finally MS fixed the problem! The scan problem was solved by MS latest updates [2025-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5055523)]. Kofax PaperPort 4.7 SE (twain driver) works by re-installation of Brother driver and software after updates. Brother iPrint & Scan also works.

Hi PegiDeMeo, would you please elaborate a bit on what steps were performed?

1.) How did you contact Microsoft regarding this issue? By using the chat support?

2.) What were the steps the Microsoft tech rep performed on your computer?

Since upgrading to Windows 11 24H2 on 04/07/25, my Brother MFC9560CDW printer/scanner has stopped working. It appears the Brother scanner driver or Control Center 4 software can no longer communicate with the MSI laptop. According to Brother tech support, Microsoft is aware of this problem and plans to release a fix. Microsoft PLANS to release a fix? I see Windows 11 24H2 scanner issues starting as far back as the end of 2024. It's now April 8th, 2025. I've also seen reports that other printer brands like HP and Epson having the same scanner issue. This is why I initially held off on installing the 24H2 update until 04/07/25. Guess I didn't wait long enough to dodge the bugs in 24H2. Microsoft, where is the resolution for this scanner driver/configuration issue?

Yes - basically my IP address was not matching the IP on my device. The Brother iPrint and Scan was indicating that my printer was offline for scanning (even though I could print from it). My printer is now showing up on the iPrint and Scan and I can use my laptop to scan now from my laptop to my scanner.

Please, can you elaborate more on what exactly the Microsoft representative did? Can you now scan directly from the device to the laptop?

I just chatted with a Microsoft representative and let him control my computer and he fixed my issue.

I shared the URL of this forum on the survey so that they are aware of this issue. But here is how he fixed it:

"I removed the printer from the connected devices from settings and then used the brother app to scan for the printer directly

Bot WC said: That way it picks the updated IP address
