Win 11 ver. 24H2 causing Brother scanning driver install to fail. How to fix?

Hi All,

I have a Brother DCP-7065DN multi-function machine, connected to my Windows 11 desktop computer. I was having some problems with a label printer and pursuant to that I disinstalled the Brother software and re-installed it. Since the re-install, the Brother printer driver installed but the scanner driver installation failed. I've tried multiple times.

Brother has noted this as a problem with Windows 11 Version 24H2. (See attached link.)

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Thanks.

I don't have that printer, but if it's just the scanner not working, I'm sure it is a Microsoft issue with this "24H2". I would think that someone from Microsoft would be monitoring this board and if so, they should fix this problem that is causing issues for so many people!

This is infuriating. So much time wasted. I have an MFC-J6710DW. It's a very useful large-format printer.

I called brother and they said they stopped supporting it. Is it MS fault or Brother?

Has anyone got the scanner to work on a MFC-J6710DW?

The problem is even more serious, because I notice that the same thing also occurs when scanning from the scanner(MFC-L8690CDW) to another laptop on which Windows 10 is installed. From both laptops (both the one with Windows 11 24H2, but also the one with Windows 10), I can scan/print from the laptop, but not vice versa, from the scanner to the laptop!

    What could be the problem?

    Windows Scan app works. Thanks.

Hoping Windows and/or Brother can provide a fix.

I also have an HP printer, so I downloaded HP Smart on my phone and am using that to scan on my phone now. It actually works very good, but it is ridiculous that Microsoft hasn't fixed this for their customers. I'd like to be able to use my Brother printer's scanner function. They are making enough money for charging annually for 365 - they should be going out of their way to help their customers.
