Now the "Imaging Devices" is no longer list after I restart my computer. Is that correct? Eithe way, still not live heartbeat from my MFC-L3720CDW that I just purchased today.
Win 11 ver. 24H2 causing Brother scanning driver install to fail. How to fix?
Hi All,
I have a Brother DCP-7065DN multi-function machine, connected to my Windows 11 desktop computer. I was having some problems with a label printer and pursuant to that I disinstalled the Brother software and re-installed it. Since the re-install, the Brother printer driver installed but the scanner driver installation failed. I've tried multiple times.
Brother has noted this as a problem with Windows 11 Version 24H2. (See attached link.)
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thanks.
Nancy

2025-02-06T05:14:57+00:00 In step #3 you indicate that we should see a list with our printer shown. On the left side where manufacturers are brother doesn't even appear. Others apparently are seeing brother appear in the list. Am I doing something wrong?

2025-02-06T00:26:04+00:00 This post by Ivan worked for me with my Brother HL-L2380DW to force the scanner driver to install after failing with the standard Brother software installation. If you try and it still fails, also check Software Devices and set the driver there too. After doing this scanning worked in the PC software (Control Center) and from the printer/Scanner LCD.
Here is the thread with Ivan's post: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-version-24h2-will-not-allow-brother/c6ac6d53-0d79-4e1a-b3f5-8794bf0a648e

2025-02-05T15:40:40+00:00 I have the problem with my Brother MFC-6490CW printer/Scanner/Fax on my home network using my new Windows 11 laptop.
I was unable to get the W11 Control Center 3 download (from Brother website) to install. It did download and un ZIP.
I was able to download and install Control Center 3 for Windows 10 (64) but when trying to scan I get a message "unexpected error -restart computer (cc3-003-00031c0e) Restart does not help.
My old Windows 10 machine with Control Center 3 works OK.
If and when this is fixed, or a simpler work around is found, I would like to know please.
