Need fix for lost audio from update to Windows 24H2

I updated to Windows 24H2. I have now lost all of my audio. When I hover my mouse over the sound icon in the tray, it shows that "No audio device is installed". How do I fix this?

    diagnostic ran and said that there was no device connected. where will i find this device?

    Same issue for me. Since the last update on 15 January (2025-01 Mise à jour cumulative pour Windows 11 Version 24H2 pour les systèmes x64 (KB5050009) and 2025-01 Mise à jour cumulative pour .NET Framework 3.5 pour et 4.8.1 pour Windows 11, version 24H2 pour les systèmes x64 (KB5049622)), no more sound driver, no way to reinstall it...

    Nevertheless, it worked before with the 24H2 installed the 21st of Dec.

    Not serious...

    Hoping Microsoft fix the issue asap

    Upgrade to Windows 24H2 went apparently smoothly until I realized the audio was gone. This is a showstopper.

    Reverted back to 23H2

    Now audio is working again.

    I checked the Sound devices and saw that Windows 24H2 tried using Realtek as output.

    My PC has no Realtek device. Strange. Why would Windows install driver and select it?

    I reinstalled 24H2 and selected the same sound driver used in 23H2 and the sound is working again.

    Strange.

    What worked for me on my Asus Zenbook, it seems 24H2 is turning off drivers and they don't come back on.

    CIRRUS LOGIC AWESOME SPEAKER AMPS (Windows 24H2)

    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE

    1. In device manager uninstall and scan for hardware changes. Once reinstalled and working -

    2. properties, power management, uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". This option is only available when it's working.

    I just found out that the same Microfix is responsible for uninstalling my scanner browser, too :-(
