Since Windows 11 24H2 update everything runs slow and takes longer to load

Ever since this update, my system takes a long time before it's fully up to speed. I'm talking 10 minutes or more. Even the opening screen where I enter my PIN takes longer to come up. After entering the pin, it takes a while for the app icons to show on the desktop and even then the taskbar arrives later. I can't get Outlook or Chrome to launch right away. It can take minutes for them to load and be responsive.

Even after the system is functioning more normally, it is still slower than before the update. Emails take a few seconds longer to open up. Files take longer to open. Chrome tabs take longer to show.

I've checked Task Manager. My CPU is at less than 10% and my RAM at 59% with apps open. Hard disk doesn't show a lot of activity. I've looked at processes and don't see anything that's consuming a lot of resources. Nothing obvious is showing up. I've made sure to turn off a lot of apps at start up that were unnecessary.

I've also turned off sys.main. Before that, everything was even slower and more annoying than what I have already described. Two other annoying things I've discovered. Microsoft turned off Malwarebytes and turned on Defender anti-virus without my permission. It also turned on Edge. None of these things should have been activated without asking my permission. The update should keep every app the way it was either turned on or off.

24H2 has changed something in my computer that affects all activity and load times. It is not hardware related.

I have a fairly fast cpu, ram and SSD disk access speed. This is a gaming computer. It worked fast before the update. I've made a few adjustments to speed things up but those were not necessary before 24H2.

I do enjoy reading the replies...they will never just admit that their software is ****. Which is the reason for issues 90% of the time

    So i was reading about disabling defender but this is one of the first things i always do on a new install. That didn't solve anything for me.
    I was using linux mint for at least a month now but still had this issue in the back of my mind.
    So i tested the newest iso of W11 24H2 in qemu and as none of the problems i had before occured again, i dared to put it on bare metal again.
    And it works again. Still would like to know what caused the issues because nothing changed on my hard- or software config.

    It's obviously not all good, yet. MSI files which use the windows installer are still making trouble. Also some vc redists take very long to install. But they work. Hopefully with some next updates this will work out better, too.
    Still feeling like a beta tester from time to time.

    I’m on my way to finding the solution.

    Not too long ago I wanted to update my old MacBook still running on boot camp to windows 11.

    However, I knew of these issues and downloaded the windows 11 23H2 File from Internet Archive. I was able to update my system and keep all my data. It’s now running windows 11 23H2 Sun Valley and not 24H2.

    I recommend you use this Archive.org file and install Windows 11 23H2 ISO File.

    After this click to open the update manager in your file explorer.

    Unfortunately, only updating saves your data, downgrading deletes the data.

    If you are ok with this, proceed to the installation and Back up your data first!!

    I already posted on this forum before, about a month ago, and now I'm back thanks to more BS by MS. Sad to say, this 24H2 update is not getting better. It's slower and bugger than it felt a month ago. Windows Hello Facial Recognition stopped working, it crashes and says something went wrong then defaults me to fingerprint or pin. At some point, the camera drivers somehow dissapeared from my system, had to reinstall them to get my camera working but facial recognition is a hit or miss most of the time. But what has actually brought me here is what happened to me today (As of the time of writing this post). I was training a model locally (had been doing so for the last 2 hrs continously) and it was just about finish, as from my observation of the logs, when I decided to step out for some water. I come back, my PC is in sleep, which is not shocking since my sleep and screen off timer is 3 mins, only for my to try and wake it up, since i know it is still training in the background, for it to give me a black screen for 30 seconds and restart itself. All that work is gone. Like **** MS, this update is buggy and you know it but still release it. What happened to QC and QA? I guess it doen't matter to them as long as they get people to buy their stupid software products and lock them in for a yearly subscription of document editors with extra color customization each iteration. Definitely rolling ts back or even better moving to Linux. DONE!!!
