Still having this issue as well. Discord half-freezes randomly, games will just completely freeze and crash if I tab out, nothing looks wrong performance wise. Reinstalled my drivers and disabled all the hardware accel stuff that I could. What is Microsoft doing??? It won't even allow me to roll back anymore, I'm genuinely going to switch my OS soon if they're incapable of making a functional one.
24H2 crashing games - working on a fix?
It seems to be a known issue but seeing as there are no fixes yet, maybe you need more people to bring up the problem.
Ever since the 24H2 update, games have been freezing up the entire computer, forcing a hard-reboot with no other solutions.
And yes, I've tried re-installing/updating graphics driver, and pretty much every solution offered so far with no avail (some mention turning off Auto-HDR, some mention disabling multi-threading options in-game, etc.).
The only solution on specific game, POE2, that has worked is playing it on DirectX11 instead of DirectX12.
Apparently the issue is easily resolved by rolling back to 23H2, but instead of the users having to resort to finding a way to downgrade their updates, is there a fix coming from Windows any time soon?

2025-01-28T15:08:39+00:00 I installed 24H2 because they said it would improve performance... what a joke... ever since then my computer just 'sticks' for no reason and takes a minute or two to unstick. Task manager doesnt indicates anything in particular... although I have noticed CPU usage has increased a lot since the upgrade.
Goes to show you just cant trust anything Microsoft says or does.

2025-02-21T06:12:09+00:00 Microsoft is about due for a class action lawsuit. Their terms of service have a rather large loophole opening themselves to financial compensation for wrecking $5,000$ personal computers, since they are forcing their untested updates on us and crashing our computers.
