Update KB5050009 not installing.

Hi... I was having this very same problem for the past 24 hours. I tried everything sugested by the good people on here, but nothing seemed to work. After countless failed attempts to retry download and re-install, I tried to download the update manualy and use the standalone installer. This also failed.

I then went into my bios to see if I might need to update it, I didn't need to as I have the latest bios for my motherboard, but I happened to notice that the PTT had been disabled by something and my TPM was not working. I enabled PTT, checked TPM was enabled and working before going back in to windows and hey presto the update downloaded and installed without a problem. So if you're having this issue it may help you to check the status of your TPM. I hope that this might help people while accepting there could be any number or reasons for this update failing to update your computers. Alan

That did not help in my case. TPM is active.

I had the same issue. For me, the problem was solved by resetting Windows Update. From PowerShell prompt as local Administrator:

1. Run to check if Windows Update service is running:

    Get-Service -Name wuauserv
   

2. Stop the service:

    Get-Service -Name wuauserv | Stop-Service -Force
   

3. Delete all content of the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\

    del C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\ -Recurse -Force
   

4. Restart Windows Update service:

    Start-Service -Name wuauserv
   

5. Go to Windows Update and check for new updates. It should work now abeit download was very slow. Be patient!

I had a similar issue. I needed to disable the 'Windows Sandbox' feature - restart my computer and then the update was installed successfully!

Maybe this will help other people.

That did not fix it for me unfortunately.

I've finally fixed mine btw. What I did was reset the Windows to the previous version before the update, then I reinstalled the update again. Fixed my issue
