Following your instructions prior to installing Windows 10 (got ahead of myself and tried to reinstall Win 10 off the bat, but while it didn't crash, it did freeze), and I got as far as formatting the W Drive (which I assume is formatting the system partition) and it threw up this error:

The type of the file system is FAT32.

System Partition is not allowed to be formatted.
Format failed.
This is after setting my boot to normal, as you said, and running admin command prompt.
