Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (build 26100.3194) ms-settings, start button, search and other not working, Unable to reinstall in place.

My desktop computer:

built for windows 11,

12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400, 2500 Mhz,

BIOS American Megatrends Inc. 9003, 11/04/2022 ,

SMBIOS 3.4 ,

ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. PRIME H610T2-CSM D4 MotherBoard

After last update, ms-settings, start button, search bar and other fuctionality does not work,

I tried as usually with elevated cmd:

sfc /scannow -> no problem detected

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth -> no problems detected

DISM.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth -> restore succeded.

reinstall in place (after configuring for a clean startup) terminate (100%) but does not succed.

This is my C:\Windows\Logs\SetupDiag\setupdiagresults.xml:

I checked the

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:"E:\sources\install.wim" from a mounted iso of windows 11 24H2 that I downloaded for the In place Reinstall.

I restarted OS but nothing changed.

From the Event Wiewer I found a lot of DistributedCOM 10001 errors (Sorry but my Windows OS is Italian):

    Your AppxManifest and my AppxManifest are the same, compared with BeyondCompare.

    I read about new procmon by Sysinternals.

    You may try this.

    1. Click Start, select Settings > Update & Security> Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
    2. Select Windows Store Apps > Run the troubleshooter.

    If that doesn't help:

    1. Download Process Monitor from Microsoft.
    2. Launch Process Monitor.
    3. Reset the filter options and click OK.
    4. If tracing does not start automatically, press Ctrl + E.
    5. Reproduce the issue by launching PowerShell admin and running the command to reinstall the Settings app.
    6. When it throws an error, switch to Process Monitor and stop tracing (Ctrl + E).
    7. Save "All Events" in a PML log file.
    8. *Zip* the log file and upload it to your OneDrive.

    The PML log size will be huge. Zipping it reduces the size by 90%.

    Note: The Process Monitor log file can reveal your user account name or sometimes the Microsoft account email ID. If you wish to share the log with me or specific people, you can share it using the "Restricted" option in Google Drive. You can grant me access once I send a request.

    1. start-> settings does not work also in new test administrative freshly created profile and no mssetting.exe process is active in task manager.
    2. now I download & install Sysinternals Process Monitor
    3. started procmon, stopped and deleted all events, restarted, execute pwershell commands, stopped and saved lof file.

    Now I extract lines of log only from powershell.exe process ......

    This is logfile link: logfile_PS.pml

    I view only name not found error reading registry keys , buffer overflow reading registry keys ... now I try PS commands on my windows 11 pc with a good Wi11 24H2 OS. I tried and there is all ok!

    Now I compare registry between my good pc and bad pc with beyond com0are (to do)

    But without success.

    Then I tried this script for resetting windows update. It worked but the windows update from powershell failed in updating.

    Please backup the registry using Acelogix RegBak.

    Then, do the following:

    1. Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST64.exe)

    Note: If Microsoft Edge or Chrome mislabels the Farbar Scanner executable as PUA/malware, choose to keep it by tapping … in the bottom bar, choosing Keep, and then choosing Keep anyway in the dialog that appears.

    1. If the OS language is non-English, rename FRST64.exe to FRST64English.exe.
    2. Download fixlist.txt
    3. Save Fixlist.txt to the folder where FRST64English.exe is located.
    4. Close all programs.
    5. Launch the Farbar Scanner tool and click "Fix".
    6. Upload the output log file (FixLog.txt) to GoFile.io and share the link here.

    NOTE: Don't run the same fixlist.txt more than once. The fixlist.txt script was written specifically for this user and for use on that particular machine. It is not recommended to run it on another machine.
