Windows installation failed after trying many different ways to Install & Download error - 0x80070002

I started getting Download error - 0x80070002 every time i would try to update windows. And then the MS store stopped working. And whenever i try to open a media file i get the message package couldn't be registered. I tried every single suggestion on the various MS tech support pages.

I also tried resetting and also reinstalling windows - both from the power shell, from a downloaded disk image, and from online. And every single time i tried, it says Operation Failed. Or Windows was not able to be installed. I have tried literally everything and don't know what to do. Are there any suggestions please?

Thanks, please do the following:

Download cbsfix2.reg and save it to a folder on the C drive -- e.g., C:\Fixes
Download AdvancedRun from Nirsoft and run it.
Using AdvancedRun, launch c:\windows\regedit.exe as TrustedInstaller (see Screenshot)
In the Regedit window, click File, and click Import...
Dismiss the "Location is not available" message box by clicking OK.
In the "Import Registry File" window, in the "File name" text box, type C:\Fixes\cbsfix2.reg and press Enter.
After the import is successful, exit Regedit.
Restart Windows.

Try to install updates.

It's a different error. The good thing is that 0x80070002 no longer appears.

Please do an in-place upgrade using the ISO now.

When i do the in-place upgrade using the iso - should i do the steps below? ie select "not right now "?
1. This starts the setup dialog. In the initial screen, click “Change how Setup downloads updates”
2. Select “Not right now”, and continue the process.

Select “Not right now”, and continue the process.
You may run it using the default settings.

Optionally, you can do the following:
1. Clean boot before running the setup to prevent 3rd party interference. A clean boot is the process of starting Windows without loading third-party apps and services. Please see this Microsoft article for more information.

(Step 3 is very important. You need to first enable "Hide all Microsoft Services" before clicking "Disable all".)

Hi Ramesh hope you are well. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I just did the steps you suggested above and it worked!! Can't tell you how much i appreciate your help!!

Ramesh, one question, should i now go back into the Services tab of the system configuration and enable everything? And also go into task manager and enable all of the items there too?
