My mic keeps on picking up desktop audio

hi guys, built a new pc last november, everything was fine and all and i decided to pick up a mic splitter like a month ago so i can use my earphones' mic to talk to my friends while i game, so like i noticed an issue when using the mic where it picks up my desktop audio for some reason, tried to fix it by updating realtek drivers, didnt work, this same issue happened to my acer nitro 5 a year back and that was fixed with a driver update, idk what the problem is and idk how to fix it tbh, anyone know how to fix it? tried to look around the web and its just the same stuff i tried, updating, reinstalling drivers, i dont even know at this point i genuinely feel like hating realtek drivers at this point because of how this issue even happens randomly

    Hi ,

    This test is to check if the microphone is picking up the sound that is coming out of your headphones during Discord. Is that it?

    Because I told you to activate the listening device option and you will hear your voice. If it worked, you will uncheck the option. After that, you will access Discord > Sound and Video settings. You will test it and that's it. With Sportify paused, you will hear yourself. Then, you will put Spotify playing, but it will not say anything. You will see if it picks up the audio. If it didn't, that means it worked.

    Or

    Are you trying to separate the audio so that only the sound of the Discord call comes out of the headphones and the sound of Windows, Spotify, games, etc. comes out of the monitor/TV?

    the first option you said really. i tried that, and it still picked up the audio,

    i meant that i can hear the pc audio including spotify and other apps it uses, i can hear my own voice too, it just hears everything

    Hi ,

    I think I misunderstood you, that you separate the PC audio on the headphones, and that's because you will listen to your PC on the headphones if it is configured as the main sound. Let me understand you, that you separate the discord audio on the headphones and the Windows and Sportify audio on the speaker or monitor?

    i hear myself and my desktop audio, played song on spotify and i can hear it as well as my mic
