Tough one for me, thanks for any and all help!

New PC and Windows 11 install

Windows 11 Home

Version 24H2

OS build 26100.2894 Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.36.0

Busy at work and took me weeks to migrate files and reinstall programs on new PC.

No problems with new system, everything running and no crashes.

Saw some windows update fails in March but antivirus and drivers were all updating so ignored.

Noticed repeated update fails this month

Stupidly dug in this time and much increased confusion and concern from common recommendations.

Removed all hardware, no programs running same results.

Manual attempt at update from Windows catalog standalone runs but returns

"This update is not applicable to your computer. check the documentation to find out if you need to install another update first"

Possible I'm missing an update that is hanging the new ones, but can't figure out how to sort that.

Windows Update troubleshooter returns

"The Windows Update diagnostic failed to run" **** and recommends talk to an agent

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth run in admin cmd returns

Version: 10.0.26100.1150

Image Version: 10.0.26100.2894

The component store cannot be repaired.

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth run in admin cmd returns

Version: 10.0.26100.1150

Image Version: 10.0.26100.2894

Error: 0x80040154

Class not registeredSFC /ScanNow run in admin cmd returns

Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.

Fix problems using Windows Update "This option is currently unavailable"

Go back "This option is no longer available on this PC"

Any other way to repair Win 11 to avoid redoing all programs, drivers, and files?

I'm stumped.

It's fixed. The original issue was caused by an incomplete installation of the LCU/SSU update. It's now rectified.

You can revert to the previous state (from clean boot to normal startup) if you wish.

Please run the fixlist below.

fixlist.txt

Post fixlog.txt.

That should resolve the issue in most cases.

Restart Windows and launch "optionalfeatures.exe" to test.

    Please run this fix.

    1. Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool 64-bit (FRST64.exe) https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mbst-frst64

    Note: If Microsoft Edge or Chrome mislabels the Farbar Scanner executable as PUA/malware, choose to keep it by tapping … in the bottom bar, choosing Keep, and then choosing Keep anyway in the dialog that appears.

    See this screenshot: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/media/microsoft-edge-security-download-interruptions/dowload-was-blocked.png. It's a safe tool used in most antimalware forums.

    1. Download fixlist.txt
    2. Save Fixlist.txt to the same folder as FRST64.exe.
    3. Launch the Farbar Scanner tool (FRST64.exe) and click "Fix".
    4. Restart Windows when prompted.
    5. Upload the output log file (FixLog.txt) to your OneDrive.

    Note: Don't run the Windows 11 setup yet. Additional troubleshooting may be required on some systems.

    After the reboot, launch "optionalfeatures.exe" via the Run dialog. Does the dialog load correctly?

    Power shell commands + Restart = no change

    Just attempted in place update as outlined by MS, downloads - Runs - Updates online - runs install

    Final result is window that says Installation has failed.

    I think there is some CBS corruption. A repair installation is not possible unless the issue is fixed.

    Please download my ssudiag.vbs (right-click and save link as in your browser).

    Run the script and post the output here.

    Note: The script does not modify anything on your system and does not require administrative rights.
