Windows 11 Sign Issues with Challenge Phrase

Hi,

I am trying to sign into my laptop as normal, but it says my password has been entered incorrectly so I have to enter the challenge phrase A1B2C3 and then my password. I know my password is correct but it keeps locking me out saying it is incorrect. I've followed Windows 11 tutorials to fix login issues but none mention the challenge phrase, which seems to be our issue.

    This issue happend to my fathers computer late in 2022.

    It resulted from him installing incorrect password too many times.

    After several attempts the only way I could fix it (in windows 11) was to reinstall Windows 11.

    The issue has not reappeared. I hope it does not reappear.

    Strange that Microsoft takes security so seriously that one minor error locks the

    regular user out of their own computer.

    I keep having the challenge phrase every time I log on to my computer, and shut down, and open it after that. Sometimes, rarely it doesn't show for once, but mostly it is always popping up, even though I knew my password. I just entered it incorrectly. I tried changing my password to resolve this issue. It still said that issue, so I put it in, so I thought the password was the old password. It was the new password that needed to be entered, so I entered it, and changing the password did not resolve the issue.

    There was a window update and from then, login screen indicates that the PIN does not work!

    I have to always use single sign-on (OTP sent to email!) and this is really a nuisance!

    I am trying to set the new PIN and after following all the process, i get an error that there was some error and i need to try after a while!

    I have spent now a whole 3 days setting-up new PIN and its still not successful!

    Regretting why i updated windows!
