Feeds / Search application using all of the ram

I noticed that the PC started running slow today and opened task manager to see that System, Feeds (Search application) is using CPU and Disk quite heavily and as much ram that it can to pin it to 100%.

Is anyone else experiencing this behavior?

Update: Windows crashed and i restarted, same application started to ramp up again so i ended it.

Looking into events now.

Same thing is happening to me, and everytime it's because I was missing a windows defender update...has anyone managed to decipher what is causing it? I finally decided to disable the widget altogether but it still makes me upset that I can't use a thing that I should be able to.

    Welcome to the club.

One thing I don't understand is why the application can be that greedy.

Mine, took almost 22GB out of 32GB total RAM.

Silly question but, if I have 128GB ram would [SearchApp.exe] steal the rest of my 110GB? :)

Yeah, I noticed disc space on drive C: getting used up. Only 300MB free space was remaining.

Having the same issue, but even after turning off News and Interests in the taskbar. In task manager 'News and Interests > Search Application' is still running and hogging 97% of my RAM!

Same with me. Disabled and stopped "News and Interests"

The kicker is that when I restarted my computer the Intel graphics driver had gone corrupt! The Nvidia driver was fine though. I couldn't use my two monitors attached to my laptop until I got help from MS (which was good and efficient, I must say)
