Feeds / Search application using all of the ram

Same issue here. Glad I stumbled over this.

Noticed my machine is slow when it shouldn't be (not running anything resource intensive)

I immediately shut down all my open applications and it still felt slow.

Upon checking the active processes and their resource usage I saw this "feeds" thing eating up 100% of my cpu, ram and even my 3080! That gpu never goes over 20%

I obviously forced it shut in a heartbeat so I do not have a screenshot.

Yesterday it was perfectly normal.

My machine was completely off up until 30 minutes of writing this post.

Turned it on and resource usage was through the roof - didn't take long to realize something was wrong.

Almost blew up my CPU - you can't treat an old lady like that and expect her not to die of a heart attack :(

Can anyone explain to me it's purpose?

Is it what it sounds like? Some app pulling in news feeds so they can pop up out of the taskbar ui?

 If that's the case, how can I permanently delete any and all files related to it? 

ps. whoever pitched this idea and whoever bought into it -- just.... I have very few words for you.

Not much would get me to switch off of MS products since they're essential for work.

But this idea right here, this might be the reason I switch my personal machine to Linux.

I had the same thing happen, tried to open a webpage today and it said there was not enough space after I opened task manager it showed feeds was using almost 29GB of RAM! Someone has a memory leak somewhere

In case this helps with the investigation, I have:

• Resizable BAR enabled
• All firmwares up-to-date of every hardware part (I updated them as soon as I got this computer on October 2021)

The following hardware:

• SSD: Gigabyte Aorus 7000 mb/s 1TB (gp-ag70s1tb) (3 years warranty)
• Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI)
• RAM: G.Skill F4-3200C16D-32GTZR (2x16GB)
• GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3080 OC (10G rev 1.0)
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5800X

I just had my system peg out at 100% as well. Surface Book 3. Killed it with the task manager but never heard of this happening. I wasn't even using the search function, and the only things running were chrome, discord, slack, and One Note. Running Windows 10.

This same issue just happened to me today on a Full AMD system. Luckily there might be some key insight here: I never had this issue until I updated my mobo bios last night and enabled resizable bar. This was the FIRST time I updated the bios. Prior to this I was running on factory bios from 2020 and didn’t have access to resizable bar.

Could the issue be tied to one of these two things?
