Did you reset the PIN which can change weird behavior like that?

Are you on a Local Account now? Try changing, restart and check for ghost account, PIN and Netplwiz issues

ok tried all that it removed the pin But it stayed on the log in screen had to go to sign in which then made me set up a pin again sorry mate no go

You should be able to remove the PIN in Settings > Accounts > Sign in Options:

If not Here's here how to reset the PIN in Windows 10 when it will not work right from Settings > Accounts > Sign In Options:

Open Windows File Explorer using the file folder icon on your task bar.

Tick the box in File Explorer View tab to Show Hidden Files.

Browse to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Ngc

Delete or rename to Ngc.old this folder to reset the PIN.

Once you delete or rename the folder it will recreate it so you can add a PIN normally in Windows Settings > Accounts > Sign-In Options. You may need to restart the PC first.

Thanks I understand at the moment using my MS account have not set up netplwiz so having to log in using pin Pain in the bum i understand i can use local account but i have a MS account had for many a year going to use that just have to put up with putting a pin in until we find a solution

Mike, I was saying that if a Local Account works you can still sign into any features that you need your MS Account for separately, like Store, games, Xbox, OneDrive, Mail, etc. That way you don't lose anything by running a Local Account.

Just be sure when you sign into a feature to not let it trick you into converting to a MS Account, as I handle a lot of cases where people don't pay attention to wording like "Streamline your experience by signing into all apps at once..." and agree only to have the Local converted to a MS Account.
