What are these brown box icons in left bottom corner of my files??

There's two different One Drives though. At least I have two. One says personal but I can't go in it as an administrator. It says only a user which I can't understand. Then there is another One Drive. 🤔

Joe, did you lose any of your pictures or files when you logged out and then logged back in?

I'm having the same problem. I'm afraid if I do that they'll be gone.

That didn't work for me. A few of the pictures and files no longer had the brown box the next day, and those could be opened. I ended up taking it to a computer repair store, Billings Tech Guys. They had never heard of the brown box problem. They charged $49 for a diagnostic workup and seemed initially to concentrate on the problem that my 60 day old Samsung galaxy pro laptop wouldn't charge to more than 84%. I told them that was NOT my concern and that I had said as much when I brought it in. I wanted access back to all my many years of pictures of our son growing up, and of our travels, and of my taxes and other documents. They said they thought the brown box came from dropbox and onedrive competing and sending stuff back and forth until it got messed up. They said the not charging to 100% was because of a problem with the hard drive and that it was developing a hot spot near the battery after it ran for a while which indicated probable issues with the battery. They recommended returning it to Costco. I did that and got a replacement of the same computer, since my husband has one that he has had no trouble with. I was dismayed to discover that my pictures and my files were NOT on dropbox. I have many on an external drive I used to set up the first Galaxy pro laptop, but not all of them. I haven't uninstalled dropbox and looked to see if they are in onedrive. I am afraid to have both onedrive and dropbox on at the same time. Meanwhile I am having trouble installing thunderbird. I signed in to my account and retrieved all my archived emails. But I can't get my address book and so now have NO email addresses to anyone. I just HATE changing computers. For many years I had a lenovo thinkpad which I was very happy with until it suddenly crashed so badly that nothing could be retrieved even by one of the send away very expensive computer places(fortunately they didn't charge the $3000 they quoted IF they could retrieve information since they couldn't retrieve a thing). I then ordered a $2500 lenovo thinkpad replacement that didn't perform as it should have and after lots of work back and forth with them they said to send it back for a full refund. However, to replace it with same features wasn't possible because of supply chain issues and anyway the black friday sale I bought that on was over and to buy a replacement with same set up would cost another $1200. So I gave up on lenovo and decided to try the much less expensive Samsung Galaxy pro that my husband has been happy with for $999 at Costco. It was because of the inability to retrieve anything at all from the lenovo that I became so concerned about backup and had both onedrive and dropbox running. Fortunately my 10 yo desktop that is extremely slow still had most of the files I most wanted and I was able to put them onto an external drive as back up.

it worked yesterday but now the brown boxes are back and once again I can't open any pictures. I tried it a second time and now it doesn't work
