Laptop Becomes unusable when unplugged

Hey , I laptop becomes so slow(almost unusable when not puggled in to charger). It is happening from tomorrow when I installed GIMP , VLC , 7 Zip, Paint 3D , 3D viewer , bitdefender parental control simultaneously on my pc , I am not sure that it is happening from the installation only . As when plugged in I am not noticing any drop in the performance of my pc . Only in taskmanager I haven't found any process running from these apps except the bitdefender parental control . Also I noted from taskmanager when plugged in my cpu is normally(without any heavy process running in backround) working at a clock speed of3.60 GHz but when not plugged in its speed is about 0.59 GHz

Close Control Panel

Click your Start Button, then just type cmd

On the resulting list, right click Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'

Paste this command into Command prompt and press Enter:

powercfg -restoredefaultschemes

When that command completes, close Command prompt and restart (not shut down) your PC.

    As soon I today booted my pc I got a notification to restart my pc to apply windows updates , after successful when I tried to change power options I found that now only Balanced option is present .How to restore those power options again .

    I already had updated chipset drivers and found some performance improvement but still clock speed was 0.59 GHz

    I totally agree with you, you should have gull control of oyur pC, you paid good money for it

    Yes, it is very late here too, I will be logging off shortly, please try those other Power Plans in the morning.

    Set that to HP Recommended, and test to see if the problem remains, if it does, try High Performance.
