The new Default App Setting is way to advance and confusing which is unecessary complex for home users. I wanted to change the default file type for Photos and Videos but I there is no jpg, png, mp4 types of file type showing when searching to change it's default app. Also I can't change the default app using explorer open with because the checkbox for always use this app is missing for both Photos and Videos. Also there is no Open with the file property too. Help Me Anyone.

*Moved from Windows 11

"...After Installation I Installed My Drivers And Windows Updates. After that I ran a Debloat Script. .."

What is a Debloat script ? Is it an .exefile or a .bat / .cmd script ?

As I understand from its name, it is a small program to remove some default programs, called bloat, off of your PC.

If this program is not for Windows 11 or is not made specifically for it, Debloat script may have made a mess of the file associations of Windows 11.

As Sibro.o suggested, it is better for you to start from scratch at this early stage.

By the way, I am also running Windows 11 on a very incompatible machine currently.

    My cpu is incompatible.

    My disk partitioning is incompatible.

    I have no TPM.

    I have no UEFI.

    I have no secure Boot.

"...I'm Running Windows 11 on unsupported device. I made an ISO and Installed it...."

By the way, where did you get the ISO ?

    Hope this helps.

Well the debloat script I used was from Chris Titus Tech. I having using this debloat script since a year ago no problems occured not once.

Well I made my own Windows 11 ISO from UUP Dump website. And I thought of reinstalling Windows 11 for 2nd time but before that i uninstalled the Windows 11 Cumulative Update (KB5005188). Which reverts the setting layout and explorer layout but because settings reverted back to how it was on windows 10 I was able to change all the default apps.

    Hi NevGi,

That's good news. I am glad to hear your PC is up and running full throttle. It was also a clever move to remove a KB patch that put you back on track.

    Happy computing.

    Hi,

I had the same issue as you, and the following command fixed it for me.

    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.Photos -AllUsers | Reset-AppxPackage

    Hope this helps!

    Thank you so much.

"Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.Photos -AllUsers | Reset-AppxPackage" did the job for me also.
