Lost all audio after May, 2021 Windows 10 update!!!!

To open 'Windows Registry' in the command prompt, press and hold Windows key + R. In the 'Command Prompt', type regedit, then press Enter. The 'Registry Editor' will then pop up and you will want to click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Then SYSTEM. Then CurrentControlSet. Then Control. Then Terminal Server. Then WinStations. That is how you get to the actual 'Windows Registry' with the 'Binary Data' and 'Values.' Now, you are going to want to Export the Winstation .REG Folder by clicking File Export. Save to a safe place.

At this point you are safe to create your own separate .reg document. Right click on the desktop, click new, click text document. Make sure to edit the end of the document to .reg from .txt. Then copy and paste inside the .reg document you just created, which you can name 'Fix_Audio.'

After saving, Execute the file by clicking on it and it will automatically update the Console Security .reg data inside the Registry Editor. You will see the number change beside the ConsoleSecurity. Restart your computer. Boom...shahckah lahckah! Your Sound should be back :)

I actually hadn't tried a Sys restore so I did  but no banana.

I don't think the earliest available restore point was early enough. But, man, thanks anyway! I really think this is more exotic or further off the beaten path than a bad driver problem. I've been at this six or eight hours. I have even purchased a new soundcard trying to fix it. Even after uninstalling everything sound driver related, new and old, with some fairly aggressive driver mining software and installing Soundblaster Audigy RX I have had no sign of auditory life from this piece of %%^(*(_(&*546.

Oh, the new user profile didn't change anything. nothing but crickets!

Please try the troubleshooting methods below and check if any of the methods will fix your concern.

Method 1: Roll-back Audio inputs and outputs driver

1. Open run box by pressing Windows Key + R and type devmgmt.msc then hit enter
2. Locate and expand Audio inputs and outputs
3. Right-click on the driver and select Update driver
4. Select Browse my computer for drivers
5. Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
6. Select any older driver from the list and click next
7. Wait for the process to complete, once completed, restart your computer and check if it resolves your issue.

Method 2: Roll-back Sound, video and game controllers driver

1. Open run box by pressing Windows Key + R and type devmgmt.msc then hit enter
2. Locate and expand Sound, video and game controllers
3. Right-click on the driver and select Update driver
4. Select Browse my computer for drivers
5. Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
6. Select any older driver from the list and click next
7. Wait for the process to complete, once completed, restart your computer and check if it resolves your issue.

Method 3: System Restore

• System restore is where it will take your computer settings back to an earlier point in time where everything is working fine.

1. Open the run box by pressing Windows Key + R and type rstrui.exe then press enter.
2. System restore windows will open. Normally it will suggest a restore point(Sometimes it doesn't), if it does, select the 2nd option to select more restore points.
3. Select your desired restore point date and time.
4. Once selected, hit next and finish.

Windows will restart itself to start system restore. System restore might take some time to complete and it is very important that system restore must not be interrupted during restore process as it might damaged the operating system. System restore will take at least 20 minutes or more depending on the content of the computer and the changes on the settings that was done prior to the date selected. System restore will also removed application , updates and drivers installed prior to the date selected.
