In the current environment, we know that you continue to rely on your PCs more than ever. As a result, we are initially taking a measured seeker-based approach to the rollout of the May 2021 Update. We are throttling availability up over the coming weeks to ensure a reliable download experience for all, so the update may not be offered to you right away. Additionally, some devices might have a compatibility issue for which a safeguard hold is in place. In these cases, we will not offer the update until we are confident that you will have a good update experience.

This is normal. For stable releases, an optional quality update is released every 4th week of the month(known as D release). Regular updates go out on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

- The “C” and “D” releases occur the third and fourth weeks of the month, respectively. These preview releases contain only non-security updates, and are intended to provide visibility and testing of the planned non-security fixes targeted for the next month’s Update Tuesday release. These updates are then shipped as part of the following month’s “B” or Update Tuesday release.

2021-05-28T11:17:48+00:00 My laptop is now unusable after updating to 21H1 on 25/5 2021. Fingerprint and password logins not working. Corrupt? I have tried many suggestions to enter/reset/repair OS. But keeps asking for Admin password, which it will not accept.
