We are throttling availability up over the coming weeks to ensure a reliable download experience for all, so the update may not be offered to you right away. Additionally, some devices might have a compatibility issue for which a safeguard hold is in place. In these cases, we will not offer the update until we are confident that you will have a good update experience.

    At "right-click Taskbar, News & Interests", I can turn it off/on with no disruption to the Tray...

    At "START, Settings, Update & Security, Windows Update, View Update History", does KB5003214 show up under Other Updates...

    If not, click for it at Windows Update. It will be optional, but addresses many issues & does work on News & Interests. Hopefully it sets things right.

    Windows 10 update 21H1 "news and interests" breaks the system tray when selecting to turn off this section of USELESS and ANNOYING info on the already CLUTTERED task bar. It causes ALL of the SYSTEM TRAY icons to disappear! This is a bug that I have witnessed on several PC's that were updated to 21H1.

    Way to do Microsoft! Constantly breaking the operating system to add useless features. Why can't you just focus on making windows secure and fixing the issues that you already have?

    Search Services, Windows Update, click on it, Change Startup type to Manual, click on Apply.

    Use this when you are not doing other things. Check every day to make sure you get the security updates.
