I have a corrupted profile after a recent update. Can somebody help me figure out how to do a repair install?

Confirm your Microsoft Account has an email address showing at Settings > Accounts > Your Info and is listed also as Administrator. If not look for the link there to Sign in with a MS Account instead to change it to your MS Account, and change it to an Administrator one of these ways:

Once you have confirmed the MS Account is Admin and works correctly, delete the Temp account by one of these methods: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5464-delete...

Make sure first that you copy the files out of the Temp account into the MS account via C:\Users.

What added a MS Account? It doesn't just get added by itself or during an Update or Version change. You have to create the account yourself. If the problem is a corrupted account then sign into the other one to see if it works properly If it doesn't or you can't sign into it then I gave you the steps to create a new Local Admin account to sign into to see if it works properly.

These allow you to keep your apps and Office in place, just replace the corrupted account. I help thousands of people do this. In the time I've tried to help you do it these past few days I've helped 6 or 7 do it successfully. What is the exact problem here that's keeping you from doing this?

i followed the steps to add a Microsoft account and give it administrative privileges. However, when my system went into low-power mode, the temp account logged out of the other MS account. also when it gives the option to log back in, it shows two profiles now: one is the temp profile, and one is an MS account. It shows one with an e-mail address, and one with a name.

I did notice after some instructions, that going into settings and then accounts, I can log out... The problem is that I do not understand how to do it on my own, so I am trying to get my dad to help me and he is busy. So likely we will try it tomorrow.

If it won't let you do it from your account, then I showed you how to enable the built-in Admin account, sign into it (leaving password box blank) to create the Local Admin account, sign into it and test if the problem is gone when you copy files over to it and open them

To copy files over to the new Admin account go to C:\Users and find the old account, click on it, it will issue Admin permissions to the new Admin account with a green progress bar traveling across the address box in File Explorer. This can take a bit so be patient, the Users folders will appear and be accessible to copy over to the new or other account.

I know that it added a Microsoft account with administrator privileges, but I don't know if it is separate from my profile. I would really like to copy all of the program  files and Microsoft Office is not deleted, and the software is in storage. It is hidden in Windows 10, and the shortcuts are in program data. I noticed that people that have office 2000 did not get it hidden upon updating, which I find really strange. It is older than 2007. I think the idea that 2007 is not compatible is odd, since 2000 obviously was not forced to be hidden.  I do want to override the read-only aspect and back up the files, if possible. Those links (from my knowledge) did not seem to be fully related to this problem, and I do not simply want to use a new account. Is the administrator account temporary?
