[Windows update installing the new Edge browser] Update KB4559309 Makes Computer Unbearably Slow

Last night I updated my windows 10 pro using KB:4559309. Since then my computer performance has absolutely tanked. my startup time is probably triple, loading any window has a few second delay.

I attempted to uninstall the update however windows tells me that it is required and cannot be removed.

This update has essentially rendered my brand new computer useless.

Please help!

I have spoken to Missy Quarry, from the Edge team, and they are investigating this problem. However, they really need more details submitted though the Feedback Hub on Windows 10. 

To submit feedback, please go to start > Feedback Hub. 

You will need to click onto report a problem. Then enter your feedback/problem you are having with Microsoft Edge. On the categories you will need to make sure you have the following drop down options selected in the image underneath:

The more detail you can submit, the better it will be for the Edge team to find out what is causing this issue. So the detail box that has the test comment, should detail everything you are experiencing.

    Any idea if Microsoft is taking note of our issues and working on a fix? These latest set of updates have rendered my PC completely useless, hampering my source of income and education. Will anyone take up the responsibility? 

    How do we make sure that Microsoft FIXES THIS UPDATE ASAP?!

    Yes, I have Bitlocker enabled and my computer is a disaster. Did a system restore, but Microsoft reinstalled kb4559309.  

    How can they say there is no known issue when so many people have an issue that there are slews of articles about it?

    Similar issue. After installing this update (on windows 2004) office products suddenly use up 25-40% of the CPU. I'm only a few hours in after doing this update so who knows what else I will find. No way to uninstall unless doing a complete restore, which also involves complete uninstall of my copy of Bit Defender. Thank you Microsoft for wasting my time again.

    Update: Before I went ahead and did a system restore I decided to see if there were any updated drivers for my laptop, which is a Dell Latitude 7490. There weren't. Then I tried disabling BitLocker and everything went back to normal. No more excessive CPU usage or poor performance. As Paul said he solved the problem by reinstalling the motherboard drivers. Were those new drivers or the same as previously, just reinstalled? Now I am also curious, does anyone else with issues have BitLocker enabled?

    @realtebo are you using bitlocker? Disabling bitlocker solved it for me, but I can't keep my client data unencrypted so I ended up reinstalling from an older 1909 usb... Ironically the 2004 update is no longer available on that machine so I guess Ms knows how badly they messed up...

    Thank you Girofox! That got rid of that Chromium ****! Good ol' original Edge was still there, along with all my old bookmarks, logins, etc.
