[Windows update installing the new Edge browser] Update KB4559309 Makes Computer Unbearably Slow

@charityfodor - if you get the email notifications for updates for this forum, have you by any chance recently clicked on the bad/bogus links put in them? I saw at least 2 maybe 3 with suspect links, and if you went to one of those, instead of the blue REPLY box to get to the forum, you probably picked up a Trojan or other Malware.  What Anti-Virus are you running? My Anti-Virus program Malwarebytes blocked one of those bad links traight away, so no issue for me, but a weak Anti-Virus might nor protect you. If you ONLY have the in-built Windows Security (White Shield with green tick at bottom right), click on that and run a full scan. If it finds nothing, download the free version of Malwarebytes, and run a full scan, let it quarantine what it needs to, and reboot.

i had the same issue but i dont run windows ten nor did i get that update. i did however get a forced microsoft edge but disabling that didnt help much either. so i looked and found only two other updates or whatever it was and they were both from intel. once i removed them everything was normal again. oddly enough they pertained to the drivers and better computer pocesses or something or other like that. any way i didnt have it before my comp. went to hell and i dont have it again and computer is very happy again

Last night I updated my windows 10 pro using KB:4559309. Since then my computer performance has absolutely tanked. my startup time is probably triple, loading any window has a few second delay.

I attempted to uninstall the update however windows tells me that it is required and cannot be removed.

This update has essentially rendered my brand new computer useless.

Please help!

I checked my updates list and it said that this update failed to install. From all the issues reported that it has caused, I feel that I've dodged a bullet. Anyone else as lucky?
