[Windows update installing the new Edge browser] Update KB4559309 Makes Computer Unbearably Slow

Use windows System Restore ... roll back to a point before the update took place... this update wiped my desktop....now have disabled ALL updates through gpedit.msc 

Another Microsoft update that has caused so many issues ... just trying to force people to use thier inferior browser

I would love to do this, but since the update was more than 10 days ago (insufficient!) I now can't. I agree with whoever said we should launch a class action suit against Microsoft for their unwanted performance-killing update system.

I don't know if Microsoft takes a note of  our issues.  I hope they do.  This is page 7 of Community responses and there are 68 replies before this page.  The Microsoft Community definitely does.  I think it's GREAT!  (I also made a complaint on "Feedback Hub" to "help make Windows better.")

Are you not aware that update 4559309 is the one that updates EDGE and you can't uninstall it?  Unfortunately it's true which irritates me no end. It's my computer I should be able to remove whatever I want barring OS, which EDGE is not and should never be.

Now I can't get to either of my .mil OWA sites because of this update that I can't uninstall.

I can feel the urgency of getting this issue resolved. You can try uninstalling the KB Update KB:4559309

To uninstall the update using command prompt follow the steps below.

1. Press the Windows key
2. Type cmd in the search box
3. Right click on it and run the application using administrator.
4. A box will open.
5. Type the following command after replacing the KB ID with the one that you wish to uninstall: wusa /uninstall /kb:[id]
6. Example: wusa /uninstall /KB:4559309
7. Once done typing hit enter.

Once done perform Clean Boot

This process will eliminate 3rd party application running in the background of your computer along with services that are not needed to run windows. If there's any conflicting 3rd party application that causes the issue on your computer, this process will stop it.

1. Open the run box by pressing the Windows Key + R and type msconfig
2. System Configuration Utility box will open and by default you are on general tab.
3. On the General tab, click the selective startup and make sure that load system service and load startup items both have checked mark.
4. Click on services tab
5. Put a check mark on Hide All Microsoft Services > This is a very important part as if you miss to click on this, computer might not boot properly or permanently and will end up on clean installation.
6. Once Hide all Microsoft Services have checked mark on it, click on Disable All
7. Click on the Startup Tab and click open task manager. This will open another window which contains all your startup applications on the administrator account.
8. Disable all application that you're not using. You can simply just click on them and select disable.
9. Click OK , Apply and close the configuration utility
10. Restart your pc and check how it goes try to activate your Windows again.

If issue persist you can perform system restore to go back to a point where your pc is working fine.
