[Windows update installing the new Edge browser] Update KB4559309 Makes Computer Unbearably Slow

Last night I updated my windows 10 pro using KB:4559309. Since then my computer performance has absolutely tanked. my startup time is probably triple, loading any window has a few second delay.

I attempted to uninstall the update however windows tells me that it is required and cannot be removed.

This update has essentially rendered my brand new computer useless.

Please help!

Hey there, everyone

I have spoken to Missy Quarry, from the Edge team, and they are investigating this problem. However, they really need more details submitted though the Feedback Hub on Windows 10.

To submit feedback, please go to start > Feedback Hub.

You will need to click onto report a problem. Then enter your feedback/problem you are having with Microsoft Edge. On the categories you will need to make sure you have the following drop down options selected in the image underneath:

The more detail you can submit, the better it will be for the Edge team to find out what is causing this issue. So the detail box that has the test comment, should detail everything you are experiencing.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Hi there Keith. I resorted to going back a previous version (1909). Worked ok. Minor problemwas large files, like movies, take time to liad the first couple if times then things straighten out. Previous version, i guess, replaced system restore. Hope this helps.

I've tried contacting Microsoft Support multiple times.  The last time upgraded me from windows 10 version 1903 to 2004.  Still, my WIRELESS is now slower, and CAM sessions using SKYPE or ZOOM are lagging and freezing.  I plug in with an ethernet cable and it resolves the problem.

I contacted my laptop manufacturer, LEVOVO, yesterday.  My warranty is out of date and they want me to buy into a plan for support.  BUT, I did show them my network adapter for wireless (Realtek 8821AE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC) and they recommended downloading their most current one from their site which goes back to June 2017.  I downloaded and installed it.

BUT,  after installing, I checked and the wireless driver is dated 2018 and is FROM MICROSOFT.   DOES anyone now if Windows 10 will not let you install an older version of a driver?

I really think my problem is due to the driver that came with the original update.

I will try putting this in the FEEDBACK HUB also.
