For Office 2007 File Validation IssueGo to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

Find OFV.CAB and extract it.

You'll have OFV.msi

Install it and hit Retry on Windows Update.

This tool worked bro! Thanks. I hide Office 2007 Validation Add-In. It is the one causing this problem. No idea why. Thanks again.

    Hi LA16,

I don't think that would be a solution here.  Office 2007 is still copyrighted material and needs activation.  I'm not sure what happens after the 30 activation window if the EULA is not accepted because it has never gone that far for me.  The failure or delay with this "update" is not a bug or glitch but more of a bandwidth, ping, lag, packet loss, etc. with the internet or Microsoft's (MS) validation servers.  And I would imagine that with all the teleworking going on now, MS chose to reduce validation sever bandwidth so that their Office 365 products function efficiently.

The error I had cleared up the next day, don't know how or why.  I never made the connection between the error code and the EULA until after the fact.

When I started up my PC the next day to "Retry" (this was the only option available in Windows Update) installing the update the EULA popped up after clicking retry.  I accepted it, the update installed and no more error.

My best guess is that with all this telework, online gaming, etc., MS servers are slowing to a crawl.

Try another install without deleting anything.  If you get this as the only error after the install and all other updates are successful, wait a day or so and click the "Retry" to install the update.

Hope this helps and have a great day:)!
