High performance Power plan missing.

Hi, i have a surface laptop and i cant change my performance in power options in control panel, it would just show balanced for me, and when i press create a new power plan i cant see high performance, it only shows balance, i need a way to get high performance can anyone please help me?

This is a temporary fix i guess, but it works for me nonetheless

using the command:

"powercfg -duplicatescheme 8c5e7fda-e8bf-4a96-9a85-a6e23a8c635c"

does not add the plan high performance in this power plan. So i ended up forcing the plan to run from cmd with this code:

"powercfg -s 8c5e7fda-e8bf-4a96-9a85-a6e23a8c635c"

and create the ".bat" file to have a launcher so i don't have to type whenever i need to use the plan. The plan runs after couple seconds of delay and appear alongside with "balanced plan". If you change the plan to the original one, the high performance one will dissapear so you need to launch the code again.

    The only available option in Windows Mobility Center for Battery Status on my Surface Pro 6 is "Balanced".

    This is how I resolved it.

    • Right-click on the battery icon in the Taskbar and select windows mobility center.
    • Click the drop-down arrow in the battery stsus panel and select high performance.

    The slide bar is pre-set to high-performance but you are not able to change the settings in the profile options.

    My previous post on page 3 has the Windows official power scheme files with the CsEabled fix and is the only method that actually works!

    Thanks for quick reply. I tried to avoid 3rd parties software to sort out the MS problems . So If I get it right, I have to download Windows  Power Revolutions from Media File and open green file etc...

    If I do it, can I get the ultimate performance too? And If I don't need then switch back to High or balanced performance?

    That's exactly what I saw. I got a few settings, but not the fine grain control I'm used to.

    It seems apparent Microsoft wishes they didn't give this feature, as it seems to interfere with "smart battery" management. This is particularly the case with things like Surface Pro. This is frustrating because I use mine as an outbound music processor. The old controls that turn off processor optimization are gone, and doing that is necessary when you need to get all of your processors power very quickly.

    Warning - if you turn this on, it WILL drain your battery pretty dramatically, and when you turn it back off, things aren't the same; I can't go back into "battery save" mode normally, for instance.

    If I had to do it again, I'd give up doing it this way, and just get a cheap rack-mounted blade where I can run my music software.
