I have had this exact same problem with the SCSI Adaptor Driver/ Intel Chipset Driver updates since Nov. 11, 2019. After this type of update, my computer gets stuck on the Black Dell logo every time I shutdown and then later turn on my computer. I then
have to do a manual shutdown with the power button, after which it will start properly. This happened on Nov. 11, 2019, March 9, 2020, March 18, 2020, May 9, 2020, and June 16, 2020. The first 3 times, I did a system restore, but the last time, I just rolled
back that one driver update to the previous version, which is what I will try this time as well. I am scared to shutdown my computer for fear it will not start at all one of these times. I am now leery of this specific update. When the "Dell Update" thing
pops up, I do not install it. The problem is that they eventually force it on me with updates during shutdown. I am glad to see I am not the only one. Perhaps this will prompt someone to fix the problem at its source.
NOTE: I was unable to roll back the driver in Device Manager this time, as the "Roll Back Driver" button was disabled. After reading online, I discovered that a driver can only be rolled back once.
