Mouso core worker process

My computer (Windows 10, 64-bit Build 19041) is constantly waking up from sleep and then going back to sleep for a short time only to repeat the cycle.  I ran sleep diagnostics on the Windows PowerShell as administrator i.e. powercfg /systemsleepdiagnostics.  The report from yesterday (5/31/2020) indicates that my computer awoke from sleep 50-55 times during the course of the day until at about 8:00 p.m., I decided that it was better to fully shut down the computer rather than have these continued cycles.  The common thread in all these awakenings from sleep is MoUSO Core Worker Process (MoUsoCoreWorker.exe).

This executable is a Microsoft programming element. 

 Why is this happening and what can I do to eliminate this totally annoying phenomena?

    This solution actually seems to have done something useful related to the actual issue and I feel like it has a good chance of being a permanent fix. All the rest seemed to rely on doing some random stuff (or the multimedia sleep setting which is a useful feature, and it is a huge red herring and was irrelevant for me because it was already allowing sleep) and then rebooting which temporarily solves the stuck update check. Thank you. When I followed the instructions, the Adobe Flash update was removed.

    Have you tried what I did above? It cured it with no need to muck about with updates etc

    Is the HDD very full? The update description suggests that. So it might be trying to clear space but is not able to, and the update is persisting.

    Well after rolling back Windows to before KB4023057 was installed and pausing updates for 7 days, I set display to turn off after 10 minutes and PC to sleep after 15 minutes and PC happily turning off display and sleeping without fail.

    Then today display is not turning off and PC is not sleeping again. I checked updates and unbelievably despite pausing updates for 7 days, KB4023057 was installed again, overnight by the looks of it.

    So I'm convinced KB4023057 is the culprit this time and regrettably I can't keep this **** off my PC or even uninstall it. Microsoft's contribution to wasting energy and I have to foot the bill!

    Got assistance for mine from Microsoft support, this is what they told me -

    Press Windows key + X Click Power Options Click Change Plan Settings” next to the option that you have selected. Click “Change advanced power settings“. On the “Power Options” screen, you want to expand each setting and ensure that they allow the computer to go to sleep mode. In my case, the setting under “Multimedia settings” > “When sharing media” was set to “Prevent idling to sleep“. I had to set this to “Allow the computer to sleep“.

    Once i did that i found running cmd powercfg -requests showed the dreaded MoUsoCoreWorker.exe had gone.

    Hope it works and helps others

    Update- it did work. Laptop went to sleep as it should
