Exact same scenario as me, except my PC is only a week old. I've gone through all the fixes I can find and still no luck getting the PC to go to sleep. Well, I did download an optional update, should've written down which one, and now MoUsoCoreWorker is no longer showing on my powercfg list, but my PC still isn't going into sleep mode.
Mouso core worker process
My computer (Windows 10, 64-bit Build 19041) is constantly waking up from sleep and then going back to sleep for a short time only to repeat the cycle. I ran sleep diagnostics on the Windows PowerShell as administrator i.e. powercfg /systemsleepdiagnostics. The report from yesterday (5/31/2020) indicates that my computer awoke from sleep 50-55 times during the course of the day until at about 8:00 p.m., I decided that it was better to fully shut down the computer rather than have these continued cycles. The common thread in all these awakenings from sleep is MoUSO Core Worker Process (MoUsoCoreWorker.exe).

This executable is a Microsoft programming element.
Why is this happening and what can I do to eliminate this totally annoying phenomena?

2021-02-07T09:58:53+00:00 Seems to have fixed it for me - at least powercfg isn't showing the errant process.

2021-02-06T19:12:01+00:00 Hi all.
I last posted on Aug 13, 2020 that all was fine after updating. And it was (for me) as I had no issues all year.
BUT, I have since built a new machine and am now on a completely different PC as of January 14, 2021, with Win 10 PRO (not Home) activated. All drivers updated. Sleep was working even without installing the optional drivers found in WU (which is fine as these should only be used if a particular device is having issues). All my software I use was installed, and it has been our daily driver. Wife uses it for Work-From-Home and is able to RDP daily.
Last night, I left my PC on after gaming. This morning, lo and behold it is still on. Did the powercfg check and MoUSCoreWorker.exe prevented THIS pc from sleeping last night.
Windows Update has found one "Optional quality update available" for 2021-01 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB4598291). Last checked at 3:36 AM
Again, this is a 3-week old BRAND NEW PC BUILD and fresh install. It was sleeping every night until last night.
I do not want to install optional updates as I prefer to have them field tested or part of the regular Windows Patch tuesday release.
I will update tomorrow or monday to advise on behavior.UPDATE: After my last post, later in the day, I noticed a Windows Update notification in the system tray, advising it needed to restart to finish installing an update. I had NOT run Windows update as per my last post. But it had identified an update and installed the following:
2021-01 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10, Version 20H2 for x64 (KB4598299)
Notice that it says PREVIEW. I don't know why this installed on its own, as the mentioned 2021-01 Cumulative preview (KB4598291) was found and I still didn't install it.
Following the restart, I continued using my PC until I went to bed. The PC was asleep this morning.
- I don't know why. But it managed to install a "preview" update for .NET Framework 3.5.
- Restarting and allowing that update to install allowed my PC to sleep on its own.

2021-02-05T04:46:57+00:00 I have no idea if this will help others, but this is what finally worked for me on two computers.
- Make sure your computer has the latest firmware update. One of mine did not and there was some kind of Intel security update for the firmware. Some magic happened after the firmware update and that laptop started going to sleep again
- Run the Sleep Troubleshooter and allow it to reset your settings. You can set them back to what you want later
Settings --> Troubleshoot --> Additional Troubleshooters --> Find and Fix other problems --> Power.
It will want to reset your sleep settings to factory settings. Just choose Yes -- you can reset to your liking later.
Allow the computer to sleep using the new default settings at least once. Usually a ridiculous 20min default. After that set it to what you like.
This is what I did for my desktop PC. Now it is working correctly.
So, in the end, the Laptop needed a firmware update. The Desktop needed the Power settings set to their defaults.
Maybe this helps at least one person to get out of the sleep hell.

2021-02-05T00:42:43+00:00 I swear there were no issues last month but now all computers back to not sleeping due to this stupid process.
Way to go Microsoft.
