Hi,
I honestly do not know.. I just checked one of mine and could find nothing as to version..
If you could boot with it and open Command Prompt, it would be listed at the top of the command prompt screen.. The version on the Repair CD would be the same as the version of Windows 10 that was installed when it was created, but that is the best I can
do..
If your CD\DVD drive is not showing up in Boot Options and\or Bios consistently it probably has a problem and is why you might be getting the error.. You might check it's connections if possible..
The installation media on a CD\DVD would work, but you may get an error message if it is older than the image trying to be recovered.. Everything else should work..
Are you sure we are talking about the same Bios options ? The Boot Options I am mentioning is not a internal Bios function.. The Boot Options is accessed without actually entering the Bios... It is a "One Time" boot selection..
Edit... If you were to run the Create Media Tool you would get the newest version of Windows 10 ISO, or have it burned to a Flash Drive or DVD... They are getting big... You may need a Dual Layer DVD.. The last one I downloaded was slightly over 4gb which
would fit, but I have seen some over 5gb..
