Updating to Windows 10 Version 2004/Conexant Drivers

So what do people with computers with Conexant drivers do? Windows Update says update drivers but there are none acceptable, it also says Microsoft is working on a fix ? So what do we do? If there are compatible drivers for devices using Conexant Audio where are they, how do we get them and install or replace them (I have tried everything to no avail). When does MS expect a fix ? Are persons with Conexant audio drivers computers at end of life ? Does anybody care ?

    I'm in the same position.

I got an automatic WU on 13/3/21 updating the Conexant HD audio driver to V8.66.95.70. With files UCI64a231.dll at V7.231.4.0 and chdrt64.sys at V8.66.95.0.

So the 2 Conexant issues documented by Microsoft in

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-10-2004#417msgdesc seem to imply that I should be getting the 20H2 or 2004 updates but nothing yet.

Has anyone in this position received the update yet?

Also note that Microsoft hasn't updated the status of the 2 Conexant issues - the last update was in Jan. So they are still officially unresolved.

Hi, I was in the same situation : I got the driver updates then I had to wait ...

It took about 3 weeks after I got the fix to finally be able to upgrade to 20H2

Maybe this delay is a bit random, maybe it will be shorter for you ... or longer, but it will definitely come.

To be honest I don't really see the difference before and after.

Has anyone tried to update the Conexant driver to version 8.66.95.70 by downloading direct from the Microsoft Update catalogue and then installing? If so, did that then produce a WU prompt to 2004 or 20H2? What happened thereafter?

If I understand previous postings correctly, some people who have now received the latest Feature via WU have also been served this version of driver with it.

Having installed 20H2 using the method I have described in detail earlier, I am still running with the Conexant ISST file version below the lower problematic version 7.231.3.0, but the corresponding file in the driver .cab is I mention above is 7.231.4.0. The signing of this file is 7 September 2020 by Synaptics and 5 January 2021 by Microsoft.

I have the Asus GL552VW. I received the 20H2 update from 1909 yesterday. WU pushed a Conextant SmartAudio HD driver update on 9th April 2021, I installed that, then on 10th April 2021, I received the 20H2 Update.

I still feel that you can uninstall the drivers and manually install the 20H2 without a restart. The drivers get automatically gets installed at the end and the sound works perfectly. If it doesn't you can install/ update the drivers through windows update again or through trouble shooting.

I don't think Microsoft Will do anything more.

I can assure you that it dosn't work for me, tried and failed on several occasions!!

I'm still a sitting duck with 1909 by my side and the expiration warning has gone. I think, it too has lost all hopes from me!
