Site passwords are lost after each reboot since a recent windows 10 update.

Experiencing the same issue with Microsoft Edge. I really don't want to have to rely on Firefox as my go to browser!!

I do not know if you have noticed this or not but I am seeing my passwords displayed in Edge even after a reboot of my computer and I am not even signed in to my MS account. I have tried numerous sites where my username and password has been saved and it fills it in just like it did before. I do not know if it is because of an update or what. I noticed this a few days ago but I held off telling you to make sure I was seeing what I was seeing. Check your out my friend to see if yours has been solved.

Hello I am an independent advisor for the Microsoft community. We will need more information from you to help diagnose your issue. What browser are you using? What version of the browser is it?

I suspect that the setting to clear your cookies and passwords when you exit the browser has been set by accident.

i have checked my clear cookies on exit, and all are off... it is not set to clear anything

yet every time i reboot my laptop, all my saved passwords are gone.

help?

the new windows 10 update has done this,

i have seen by the queries in chat rooms that this new forced windows 10 update is causing multiple errors....

Unless things change, which I seriously doubt they will, you are going to need to sign into Edge at each session or stay logged in with your MS account and turn on Sync in order to see your saved passwords to use. I suppose this is MS way to collect data on what you are doing on the web and how you use Edge. You will need to do the same thing with Google Chrome. Sorry but that is the way it is going to be from now on it seems with Chromium based browsers. This is why I fully removed Chrome from my computer and took Edge off my taskbar as I will not use it anymore. Personally I feel having to sign in with a MS account or Google account to use a browser is encroaching on my privacy. I have always used Firefox as my default and I installed Ice Dragon 64bit as my backup browser plus I use TOR.  I think it is all up to the individual user's thoughts on privacy.

Just to clarify, I have never used sync across any of my devices. While it's convenient, it raises concerns for me on many fronts. I do not consider enabling sync all of the time as a fix

DonT5, I took your suggestion of enabling sync and I saw a lot of my saved sites/passwords reappear. What was interesting was a select few that never came back. These were a few sites that I use multiple times a day every day. One of those is Facebook. 

So after I synced, I logged back into Facebook and verified that it was saved as expected. Later in the day when I opened chrome and went to Facebook, I had to log in again. So my statement about losing my passwords after rebooting needs to be updated to include random times after closing Chrome. And I triple-checked that I do not have 'Clear cookies and site data when you quit Chrome' turned on.

I'm really not worried about having to log back into all of the sites I had saved, I'm more concerned that they will still be there after closing Chrome or rebooting my machine.
