This is a summary of the cumulative updates released on July 14th for all the supported consumer releases of Windows 10.

Servicing Stack Updates

It is recommended to install Servicing stack updates before installing the cumulative updates. This update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack, which is the component that installs Windows updates. Servicing stack updates (SSU) makes sure that you have a robust and reliable servicing stack so that your devices can receive and install Microsoft updates.

Known Issues

  • Known issues with KB4565503(2004): When using some apps, such as Microsoft Excel, users of the Microsoft Input Method Editor (IME) for Chinese and Japanese might receive an error, or the app might stop responding or close when attempting to drag using the mouse.For more information and workaround steps, please see KB4564002.
  • Known issues with KB4565483 (1903/1909): After installing this update on a Windows 10 device with a wireless wide area network (WWAN) LTE modem, reaching the internet might not be possible. However, the Network Connectivity Status Indicator (NCSI) in the notification area might still indicate that you are connected to the internet. We are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.
  • Known issues with KB4558998(1809): After installing KB4493509, devices with some Asian language packs installed may receive the error, "0x800f0982 - PSFX_E_MATCHING_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND."Uninstall and reinstall any recently added language packs. For instructions, see Manage the input and display language settings in Windows 10. Select Check for Updates and install the April 2019 Cumulative Update. For instructions, see Update Windows 10.

    Windows Security will not open after updating to Version 2004, OS Build 19041.388. 

    Keep getting this message:

    We're updating windows security. It should be ready to use again shortly.

    THIS UPDATE F***ED UP MY BOOTLOADER AND NOW I CANNOT BOOT INTO LINUX. **** WINDOWS DEVS CANNOT MAKE ONE STRAIGHT OS. SHOULD HIRE ME INSTEAD.

    Windows 10 Pro 64bit, desktop

    Laptop, Windows 10 Pro 64bit and gets all its updates.  That is how I know the desktop isn't getting all its updates.

    I'm reporting an issue with Windows Searchthat I'm experiencing after this update. (Note: I am on Windows 10 2004)

    After I updated my system on July 17th, Windows Search stopped working. I tried the following fixes from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4520146/fix-problems-in-windows-search

    1. My system is on the latest update
    2. I tried fixing through the Search Troubleshooter and it did not find anything wrong
    3. I tried restarting SearchUI.exe by ending the task and the process through the Task Manager but SearchUI.exe was missing there. I tried ending the SearchIndexer.exe task and process since it was the closest thing there but that didn't do anything too. SearchUI.exe couldn't be found anywhere on my laptop
    4. I tried running the ResetWindowsSearchBox Powershell Script fix as instructed in the link above but that did not fix it too.

    5.I tried restarting Windows Explorer through the Task Manager but that did not work too

    1. I uninstalled the last updates and tried #2-5 again but the Search still does not work

    An urgent fix is needed for this since Windows Search is a heavily used feature. Help will be very much appreciated.
