how to fix Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004 failed - 0xc19001e1

Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004 failed to install all the way.  I have tried twice to get this update and both times it did not complete all the way / only 86% then failed.  When I check for updates again I get:

Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004

the next version of Windows is available with new features and security improvements.  When you're ready for update, select "Download and install"

Can someone help me with this update problem?

    Have the same issue. Tried to install 2004 3 or 4 times. Alway crashes with BSOD 2 times and then rollback to the old version. tried some hotfixes, tiped some stuff into cmd, uninstalled my kaspersky, checked free space on c:/ (over 200gb). checked and repaired systemfiles with cmd-voodoo commands, nothing is broken. unpluged some usb-stuff, updated all hardware-drivers. i do not want to clean install. my pc works very well. but in the next step 1909 is out of date and iam outdatet, no updates und support etc.

    what to do microsoft? should i try to fix it by my self? should i wait until microsoft fixes that problem? i dont know what to do. whats next?

    So it made no difference. In fact version 2004 doesn't even show up under Windows Update anymore. I'm still at the 1909 build.

    My computer which is more than 7 years old and came with windows 7 was upgraded to windows 8 then two years later (2018) crashed luckily I was able to have my info on my hard drive recovered and a fresh install of windows 10 and I installed all my apps / programs and for awhile with other updates since 2018 seemed to be working ok.  The latest windows 10 2004 update caused lots of problems never installed frozen halfway etc (see my first post).

    I had to pay to get online support to get the Windows 2004 update done which finally installed.  Once it was done it seemed as though my computer was stuck in a loop not responding at start up with any of my apps and or programs such as Microsoft office 365 so once again I had to contact the support people which I had paid (for a year subscription) to dial in and they did exactly what LeeRobins suggested on the thread above. they also changed my startup so that not all my programs and apps ran at startup to help solve the time it took for my startup.  It did take care of some of the issues I was having after this was done but it looks like I am going to have to call support once again as I am still experiencing startup issues and have to reboot my computer to get things working correctly. 

    I do not believe I have have any hardware problems but it has been suggested that maybe I will need to do a fresh install of Windows 10 to wipe the hard drive and start all over but before I do that I will look into buying a newer model as some of my drivers for my hardware are not able to be updated since my system is so old and the driver hardware is outdated and not supported anymore. 

    Not sure if any of this will help anyone else but good luck with updating Windows 10 2004.
