Hi guys, I found all my Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines have error installing this Windows Update patch today. I found a way helps it get thru the installation after trying out all the suggested solutions on the web. I use a 3rd party disk partition software to increase the size of the recovery partition (after shrinking C: drive by 500MB) to at least 1GB in size. then run the Windows updates again for this Windows Update patch and it installed successfully. noted: one of my machines did not have a recovery partition because it is in root C:\ drive. I still have to create a blank 1 GB recovery partition to make this Windows Update patch run successfully. The 1GB recovery partition remained empty after this patch was installed successfully. BootIt BM Partition Manager from Terabyte Unlimited will do this for you. I'm NOT saying you should do this just to fix this debacle from MS! I'm just pointing out a powerful and non-destructive partition manager in case you want to go down that road, or if you have need for one elsewhere. Just trying to be helpful.

I'm making a path now to look at merging over to Ubuntu as there is just too much going wrong with Microsoft and they REFUSE to listen. I highly recommend Linux Mint!

I briefly read through the instruction of how to resize: first shrink the storage partition and then increase the size of the partition that is to small now.... Yet, those instructions use terms that are incomplete in meaning, so you have to have some way to find the meaning of things left unexplained; the instructions seem to me like a jigsaw puzzle missing some of the piece, but sold as complete.
