Did you solve this? I'm having the same issue now
How to fix the "That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method" screen.
I was trying to get my phone number off my old account that my brother was using, but every time I try to add my phone number its keep saying "That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method", and the tab says "Blocked", and at first I thought my account was block [for Some reason], but I could still sign in, Then i tryed to refresh a few times. but that also didnt work, and the thing is I can put the phone number, back on the other account, but not on the other one i'm trying to get it on.

2024-07-11T03:29:37+00:00 It is a joke that I uploaded all important data to my secondary account and the "Try another verification method" screen displayed after 1 day. Now I haven't been able to do anything for 2 days, no documents, no Excel files although I have paid for Office 365.

2024-07-13T01:34:01+00:00 Same here. And Derrick, none of the suggestions you made are working, so fiiing frustrating. what else can we do? you guys need to fix this.
Derrick replied on January 2024. It is now July 2024 and still the issue has not been fixed. C'mon MS, it is 2024, in the age of AI. It is ridiculous.

2024-07-13T03:36:46+00:00 I've gone through support and had my ticket 'escalated'. Was told I'd have an answer within 72 hours, currently at 5 days. Support say to wait longer.
From what I've read it is likely a block and the only way past it is to wait between 24 hours and one week and don't try logging in during this time. So dumb and terrible service
