Please try another method", and the tab says "Blocked", and at first I thought my account was block [for Some reason], but I could still sign in, Then i tryed to refresh a few times. but that also didnt work, and the thing is I can put the phone number, back on the other account, but not on the other one i'm trying to get it on.

I forgot my password and have two step verification set up -- my phone number and my husbands email.

have been trying to get on for 2 weeks - I get the 1st verification code through his email but.... then when it

asked to do the second verification and I put in my phone and ask for a code it has told me for 4 days that

method is not available right now. I don't have another way to get verified and I have work stuff on this

computer I cant get to --- I need HELP

Totally agree. exact same problem. This is MS service/product failure.

It would be laughable if MS wasn't so shockingly negligent.

I have the same problem. One week since problem has begun.

Online chat help palmed me off with yet another form to fill in yesterday. So far, no reply after filling form in.

MS needs to set up a help line for this problem. in-app sign-in fails. verification method via phone is 'not working right now'.

This is a serious product/service failure.

None of this works. I got through the account recovery and I get this:

"It looks like you just used the Microsoft account recovery form (https://account.live.com/acsr?mkt=en-US) to request a password reset for [the email im trying to access]. Because you've turned on two-step verification for your account, we ignore these requests but wanted to let you know.

I put in the code from my secondary email and it wants me to put in a text code after. It won't send a code to my phone, or it says it's not working, or I can't even get through the robot verification because it locks up and won't load the next page.

I don't understand why the code from my email won't work.

If I do get to resetting my password, I put in a new one and then it says it timed out.

This is ENTIRELY a software issue on YOUR end. I have access to both my phone AND my email for the 2 step verification - but it won't work on your end.

This email is one that's about 20 years old, I have EVERYTHING linked to it from my Steam account to my Unreal account which I use for game development, you are literally going to screw my entire career as a game dev if I don't get access to my account.

PLEASE GET SOME CODERS TO SORT THIS SITUATION - IT IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

The message "That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method" usually indicates that the verification process via phone number is temporarily unavailable or that there's an issue with the phone number you're trying to use. The fact that it says "Blocked" on the tab might mean that the system has flagged your attempt as unusual activity and is preventing changes to your verification settings as a security measure.

Here's what you can try to resolve this issue:

    1. Use a Different Verification Method:
      • If you have an alternative verification method set up, such as a secondary email address or security questions, try using that method instead.
    2. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies:
      • Sometimes, clearing your browser's cache and cookies can resolve these issues. After clearing them, try the verification process again.
      • Disclaimer: Your browser automatically saves temporary internet files to help pages load faster. Clearing this cache will sometimes fix website issues. Please back up all your personal files first, such as Favorites, to ensure you do not lose data.
    3. Try a Different Browser or Incognito Mode:
    4. Check the Phone Number:
      • Ensure that the phone number you are trying to use isn't already associated with another account. Some services do not allow a phone number to be linked to multiple accounts.
    5. Account Recovery Options:
