How to fix the "That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method" screen.

Here's what you can try to resolve this issue:

1. Use a Different Verification Method:
   • If you have an alternative verification method set up, such as a secondary email address or security questions, try using that method instead.
2. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies:
   • Sometimes, clearing your browser's cache and cookies can resolve these issues. After clearing them, try the verification process again.
   • Disclaimer: Your browser automatically saves temporary internet files to help pages load faster. Clearing this cache will sometimes fix website issues. Please back up all your personal files first, such as Favorites, to ensure you do not lose data.
3. Try a Different Browser or Incognito Mode:
   • There might be an issue with your browser. Try using the Edge browser then opening an incognito/private browsing window and attempt the process again.
4. Check the Phone Number:
   • Ensure that the phone number you are trying to use isn't already associated with another account. Some services do not allow a phone number to be linked to multiple accounts.

To whom it may concern,

It's been 2 days already and I keep getting "That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method" after I type in my normal phone number to receive verification code. I don't have an alternative verification method and I have already tried clearing my browser cache and cookies, using a different Browser and private browsing window, checking phone number and even using the account recovery options multiple times. I need to get into my account urgently. Please help!!!!

I was trying to get my phone number off my old account that my brother was using, but every time I try to add my phone number its keep saying "That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method", and the tab says "Blocked", and at first I thought my account was block [for Some reason], but I could still sign in, Then i tryed to refresh a few times. but that also didnt work, and the thing is I can put the phone number, back on the other account, but not on the other one i'm trying to get it on.

I just get silly and ridiculous information from the Microsoft support that told my entire country was blocked to use the OTP for adding recovery phone number since the recovery phone number as the part of security purposes.

This is what they told to me

Yes, your country, was restricted by Microsoft by adding the ohone number as an alias or security information from your account. I understand that you wanted to add the phone number on the account as an alias or as a security, however, I cannot do something to my end to edit the Microsoft system design. Since your country is one of the blocked countries then we don't have any option to add the number, dear customer. What we can really add is an email address.

As much as I want to provide you any link regarding on the reason why your country got block by Microsoft by adding a phone number, however I cannot further provide your any information with that. I really sympathize with your request, dear X. I really wanted to help you add your phone number as you wish, I really do, but as much as I wanted to do it, there is nothing I can do on my end since my hands are tied and my scope of support is limited. If only I can move mountains and edit the system as you wish me to do so, but I cannot afford that, since it is already out of my power. I am really hoping for your kind understanding.

I cannot imagine what the reason behind that and why Microsoft blocked all the nation. So, if someone has experience as me, there are possibly that Microsoft blocking your country.
